It's how far apart the members of each group must stay from each other, according to an injunction issued Nov. 30 by Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Judge Thomas Penick. April 7, 2000 A Visit from Scientology's Enemy Number 1 Bob Minton was never a Scientologist. He began to get interested in the machinations of the sect when he read about the Lisa McPherson case on the internet. The young woman, who died, had apparently been locked up and starved by U.S. Scientologists. Scientology regards Minton as "Enemy Number One" - its arch-enemy. At his side sat Stacy Brooks, who worked in the "Sea Org" in the sect's headquarters and then left after being held against her will for nine months. Bob Minton, Press, What's Wrong with Scientology?
November 25, 1999 Scientology Foe Seeks Protection An outspoken foe of the Church of Scientology is striking back after being hit with an injunction barring him from going near the church's property and members. Minton contends in court papers filed Wednesday that he is the one who needs the protection of an injunction against Scientologists. Minton's attorney, Denis de Vlaming, said an Oct. 31 incident in which his client was charged with misdemeanor battery was the culmination of numerous confrontations over the years. October 30, 1999 Anti-Scientology Foundation Created A critic of the Church of Scientology said he is financing a new foundation named after Lisa McPherson, a Scientologist who died in 1995 while in the care of the church. Robert S. Minton said he would incorporate the Lisa McPherson Educational Foundation. McPherson, 36, suffered a severe mental breakdown 17 days before she died of a blood clot in her left lung. Her death prompted a wrongful death lawsuit, filed in Tampa, and criminal charges against the church in Pinellas County. Minton's foundation will reach out to disaffected members of the church and educate the public about what he says are the harmful effects of Scientology. Bob Minton, Clearwater, Lisa McPherson, Press
March 29, 1999 Critics Public And Private Keep Pressure On Scientology - At Home Scientology reacts to the pickets by sending staffers out to confront them and take pictures. Increasingly, Scientologists go out and picket critics' home or office, distributing fliers that accuse them of being "religious bigots." Some pickets say Scientologists have frightened elderly family members with visits and questions about their picketing. Bob Minton, harassment, Keith Henson, lawsuits, Press, Raul Lopez
December 24, 1997 Scientologists Get To Question Critics' Backer The Church of Scientology won the right Tuesday to question the man who has been financing its critics. Scientology's lawyers say they want to know who Minton has financed and why because his motivations and those of potential witnesses could be an issue if the case goes to trial. Moody agreed, but warned the church its questions of Minton must be relevant to the McPherson case. Bob Minton, lawsuits, Lisa McPherson, Press
December 23, 1997 Scientology Sponsored Suit Against Opponent Scientology has blasted Robert S. Minton Jr. for donating more than $1.25-million to its critics, calling his actions "nefarious" and underhanded. The church contends he is illegally interfering with lawsuits involving Scientology. But earlier this decade, Scientology officials themselves backed several lawsuits against one of the church's own adversaries, the Cult Awareness Network. Bob Minton, lawsuits, Press
