Church Of Scientology Fails To Prove Malicious Intent Of Time Magazine Writer |
The Church of Scientology did not show that the author of a 1991 article in Time magazine was malicious in his description of the organization, a U.S. court has ruled. In affirming a lower court's dismissal of a libel action, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said there was no likelihood that a jury would find "purposeful avoidance of the truth" in an article titled "Scientology: The Cult of Greed" by Richard Behar. |

Scientology Organization Sues Interior Agency and "Sect Commissioner" |
The Scientologists are showing that they are lawsuit-happy. They intend to prohibit the Hamburg Interior Agency from letting their sect commissioner Ursula Caberta continue her research and information work on the Scientology Organization. A cease-and-desist application was filed yesterday by Munich attorney Wilhelm Bluemel in the Hamburg Administrative Court to that effect, verified court spokeswoman Angelika Huusmann. |
