 Four of us met at lunchtime on the way into Birmingham -- me, the big
 fellah, and a couple of new protesters -- with a bagful of Roland's
 new "Beware of the Pods with ClipBoards" leaflet.  After a quiet drink
 we set off to the top, western, end of New Street by "the floozie in
 the jacoozie" (statue of a woman bathing in a fountain). Me and the
 big fellah set of eastward along the southern or shady side, taking 
 one pavement each of every side-street as we came to it, and the other
 two did the same on the north side.  We finished first, but they did a
 much more thorough job of getting leaflets up on notice-boards or in
 shop-windows for the benefit of people working in the area. afterwards
 we got a table looking out onto the pavement at the little pasta/pizza
 place and had a nice pizza marinara and irish coffee. It was a lovely
 warm summer's day, and we sat round talking about recent and upcoming
 redevelopment of the city. Unlike in winter-time, the pedestrianised
 western end of New Street is absolutely buzzin' with people and half
 the shops open on Sunday.  Then we popped a leaflet in the Org, rang
 the intercom and asked if a Mr Xemu Etrawl was in the office today,
 and made our way home satisfied with a good afternoon's work.
