ScientologistA Scientologist is a member of the International Association of Scientologists - or anyone who uses Scientology techniques to improve things. There have been various official membership organizations over the years (including HAS and HASI), some offering "lifetime memberships" that became invalid when a new organization arose to replace the old one. The Scientology organization has also claimed that Scientologist is a service mark, similar to "Realtor" - purportedly a professional term that can only be legally used by someone who's in good standing with the official church. It's doubtful whether such a restriction would stand up in a court of law. |
