Guardian OfficeThe Guardian Office (also known as the Guardian's Office) is the old name for the Office of Special Affairs, the division of Scientology that oversees Scientology's reputation. It attempts to silence critics (notably journalist Paulette Cooper, mayor Gabe Cazares, and former members such as Dennis Erlich, Arnie Lerma, Vaughan Young, Stacy Young, and Tory Christman). It is also in charge of front groups (described as social betterment groups or SoCo - Social Coordination - in Scientology documents). The Guardian Office executed a massive conspiracy in the United States and Canada in the 1970s known as Operation Snow White. Scientology operatives infiltrated and broke into government offices and stole thousands of documents in an attempt to remove any derogatory information about Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
