What Scientology Celebrities Don't Tell You About Scientology |
|
Scientology recruits celebrities to help make Scientology more appealing to the public ... but Scientology celebrities don't tell you the whole story. Below is the text of a flier I used when Scientology celebrity and promoter Nancy Cartwright came to town. Other celebrity fliers will be added soon. (In the meantime, you may wish to read an article about John Travolta and Battlefield Earth.)NANCY CARTWRIGHT PROMOTES SCIENTOLOGY Nancy
Cartwright is an actor and voiceover artist, best known as the voice of Bart
Simpson. Here is what Nancy say's about it: "If you are interested, read a book. If it appeals to you, good. If it doesn't, fine." There are plenty of them out there: What is Scientology? , A New Slant on Life, Fundamentals of Thought , Dianetics, the Modern Science of Mental Health, and The Scientology Handbook. It has helped Nancy tremendously. She believes in it, supports it, raises her children with L.Ron Hubbard's philosophy and believes anyone interested in making themselves more able in ANY area of his/her life can benefit by Scientology. 'Nuff said. Her web site also contains links to two Scientology front groups, the Way To Happiness Foundation and the Citizens Commission on Human Rights. She is featured on several of Scientology's web pages and credits Scientology with her success in interviews. WHAT NANCY CARTWRIGHT WON'T TELL YOUScientology hurts children.Recent affidavits by former Scientology kids Astra and Zoe Woodcraft describe being separated from their parents; being hidden from health inspectors; living in unsafe, overcrowded, cockroach-infested quarters; constant hunger; extreme sleep deprivation; inadequate education; being deprived of medical care; regular verbal abuse; and extreme pressure to have an abortion. They had to do dangerous work: using a jackhammer and a circular saw; cleaning floors with acid; picking up staples and paint chips out of the carpet; demolishing a room that had been used to lock up disobedient children; and being ordered to drive around the city despite extreme sleep deprivation. Tragically, these are not isolated cases. Reports of children mistreated by Scientology date back decades. See www.taxexemptchildabuse.net Scientology destroys families.Scientologists are required to sever all contact with anyone who is critical of Scientology. In some cases, Scientology pressures individual Scientologists for contributions to the point of suicide. (See Patrice Vic, Noah Lottic, and Rodney Rimando.) Scientology is breaking the law.Scientology is committing fraud on a daily basis. There is strong evidence that they regularly commit false imprisonment, practicing medicine without a license, and a variety of other crimes. While most individual Scientologists are not directly involved in committing these crimes, their financial and moral support make these criminal acts possible. Scientology lies.Scientology lies about its members, its founder, its critics, its front groups, its ex-members, its history, and its teachings. Whatever good Scientology may offer to Nancy Cartwright and other active Scientologists, it cannot compensate for the serious harm suffered by the Woodcrafts and so many others. Scientology hurts children, destroys families, breaks the law, and lies to the public. $CIENTOLOGY IS HURTING PEOPLE AND BREAKING THE LAW.Learn more about $cientology on the Internet:
