FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
INVESTIGATIVE REPORT
On April 10, 1997, SA A. L. Strope, in furtherance of the investigation into the death of LISA
MCPHERSON, assisted in taking testimony of three of LISA'S caretakers during her stay at the
Fort Harrison Hotel. These women, JOAN STEVENS, BARBRO WENNBERG and HEATHER
PETZOLD, testified as a result of a State Attorney's subpoena.
At approximately 0900 hours, JOAN STEVENS, accompanied by her attorney Robert Poli,
appeared at the Pinellas County State Attorneys office. MS. STEVENS was interviewed, under
oath, by Assistant State Attorney Mark McGarry, SA Strope, and Clearwater Police Detective
Jorge Carasquillo.
MS. STEVENS said she has been with the Scientology organization since 1975.
MS. STEVENS said she spent just one day with LISA. She believed that day to be Thanksgiving
1995. She said LISA was in a room with one double bed. MS. STEVENS said her senior during
this period of time was LESLIE WOODCRAFT. MS. STEVENS said that during her watch,
LESLIE WOODCRAFT was assisting with LISA and Janis Johnson was also there to see LISA.
MS. STEVENS said that LISA was violent and was constantly talking and rambling about non-
sensical things. MS. STEVENS said a security guard was posted outside the door and that he
was called on at least one occasion during her shift because LISA had become violent and struck
her several times. The security guard, Sam Ghiora, came to assist her with LISA.
MS. STEVENS said that the security detail was being run by PAUL KELLERHAUS.
This interview was recorded by a court reporter. See this transcript for further details.
Also on this date, BARBRO WENNBERG arrived with her attorney, Robert Poli. She appeared
as the result of a State Attorney subpoena.
MS. WENNBERG has been a member of the Scientology organization since 1979 and in
Clearwater since 1984. She is currently the Director of Inspectors of Reports.

happened between the two days that she was with her.
